No list of Midlands' eateries could be complete without the granddaddy of all the Chinese places, Chung Ying, situated in the heart of Birmingham's Chinatown, and serving the genuine article, as far as Chinese food is concerned, ever since it opened in 1981. If, like me, you are fond of Dim Sum, you will find a selection almost unparalleled in Britain, and at very reasonable prices as well, though if you go for prawns and lobster then your bill will rise a bit!
